If during the precedent step the format selected was “WORD”, under the “Enter Letter Text” tab in the Edit Letter window, the following button will be displayed indicating the letter is a Microsoft Word® letter:
Click on the “Create/Edit Word Template” to begin working on defining the letter. Ensure that no other instances of Microsoft Word® are open during this session.
At this point, the system will display the following dialog box:
The system will open an instance of Microsoft Word®, assign a template number and the IMPACT Floating Letter Dictionary Panel will be displayed, as follows:
Start working on drafting the letter. Use the Floating Letter Dictionary to drag and drop the fields where the cursor is located. Grab the fields by the six dots just to the left of the field code:
Continue drafting the letter and inserting fields as necessary.
Once the letter is completed, close the Floating Letter Field Dictionary. The following dialog box will be displayed:
Proceed to save the letter by using CTRL-S or File – Save from the Microsoft Word® menu. If an attempt to close the letter without saving is made, the following prompt will be displayed:
Click “Save” to save the template. IMPACT will invoke its own dialog box expecting confirmation that the new template will be uploaded and saved, as follows:
Click “Yes” to upload the template. The following confirmation message will be displayed.
